Zune and Windows Vista Not Compatible

Microsoft has admitted that their newest operating system Windows Vista and their latest Zune media players are not compatible.

Buried in the Zune website, Microsoft admits that the player is not compatible with Vista and gives no information as to when it will introduce a patch or update enabling the player to do so. Instead, users are asked to “check back soon for updates”.

It is expected that a new patch to make Windows Vista compatible with Zune will be releasted in the month of January. Vista will be launched for business this month and for retail in the month of January.

Zune Sales Good But Not Great

Tuesday November 14, Zune was released nationwide officially. According to review and sales reports, Zune sales are doing just good but not great. At some retail outlets its not even yet in shelves. The are no long lines in front of the electronic and music stores.

Zune Deal: Microsoft and Universal

Universal Music Group and Microsoft has had a license deal for Zune media player and the Zune digital music store in which Universal will get the share of the Zune sale.

Microsoft is trying to have a similar licensing deals with other major record companies. In such deals, instead of payment per song basis, Microsoft is planning to pay the portion of the player sales. This way, Microsoft hopes to have more freedom to allow song-sharing or other promotions.
